Penelope Keith has appeared in popular sitcoms like “The Good Life” and “To the Manor Born.” Her role in the former made her iconic across British households, and she won a BAFTA for her role in 1977. Keith also has other accolades, winning another BAFTA for “Norman Conquests” and an Olivier Award for “Donkeys’ Years.”
For her services to film and television, she was appointed a Dame in 2014. Later in her career, she turned her attention to plays. She starred in “Blithe Spirit” in 2004 and later “The Importance of Being Earnest” in 2007. In 2018, she collaborated with Enid Bagnold to appear in the play “The Chalk Garden.”
