Petula Clark’s career goes way back to the ’40s, and she has nurtured a full concert touring schedule up until 2019. After finishing her tour that year, she then portrayed the Bird Woman in West End’s Mary Poppins. Did we mention that she’s already in her ’80s?
A devastating piece of news came Clark’s way, though, in December 2020. The Nashville suicide bomber blasted Downtown from his vehicle as he went about his violent Christmas Day explosion plan. The British songstress was shocked that her Grammy Hall of Fame-inducted song was used and shared her sympathy with Nashville, Tennessee, via Facebook.
