Jake was alright with the long-legged, fast-running Ostriches. Until he was on the set of ‘Prince of Persia: Sands of Time,’ and an unusual conversation with a co-star led to the discovery of ostriches “tearing out your eyes and ripping out your heart.” It might have been a joke but was enough for the actor to fear the ”monstrous” creatures for the rest of his life!
People are not born with any other fear except for the angst of falling and loud noises. All other phobias are developed due to later life experience, which is very obvious with actor Jake Gyllenhaal’s irrational anxiety when he is around an ostrich!
