Maintaining a successful marriage while managing a political career can be challenging. Not for Nancy Pelosi, though. The politician, who was re-elected to a fourth term as House Speaker in January 2021, is no stranger to defying stereotypes, as evidenced by her long-time marriage to her husband, Paul Pelosi.
The pair met while attending Trinity College, and their love developed almost immediately. They married at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore in 1963, a year after Nancy graduated. They had their first child in 1964 and their fifth one in 1970.
