Take A Look At These Super Cars That Your Favorite Hollywood Celebrities Own
John Wayne – 1975 Pontiac Grand Safari, ~ $115K
Before beloved actor John Wayne found mainstream success in Hollywood, he starred in B-grade movies first. His big break was with the film Stagecoach by John Ford. Nicknamed ‘Duke’, Wayne’s most notable film is probably True Grit, which was a box office success and won him an Academy Award for Best Actor. Out of the 120 films he made, an overwhelming majority of them were Western-themed, making him the personification of the country’s frontier heritage. When you think of cowboys, John Wayne is definitely the first person that comes to mind. Before SUVs were a thing, Wayne was already a fan of big vehicles, and one of his favorites was his 1975 Pontiac Grand Safari station wagon. Since he was pretty tall, standing at 6 inches and 4 feet, the head room of the wagon was customized to fit him and his cowboy hat. This car is said to be the last one he always rode in before he passed away in 1979. It has a huge 455-cu.in. V-8 engine with an output of 200 horsepower. The interiors of the car have remained intact, and it is still owned by Batjac Productions, Wayne’s production company.
