These Celebrities Are Still Alive And Going Strong
Tommy Steele – Age 85
Sir Tommy Steele is an English entertainer who’s said to be the country’s first teen idol and rock and roll superstar. He was already releasing hit rock and roll singles in the United Kingdom in 1956—”Rock the Caveman”—and 1957—”Singing the Blues.” Later on, in the late ’50s and ’60s, he starred in musical films such as “The Duke Wore Jeans” and “The Happiest Millionaire.”
Remarkably, Steele is also an accomplished sculptor who had the chance to exhibit his work. “Eleanor Rigby,” a tribute to “The Beatles,” is one of his most famous sculptures. In 2021, Steele was given the Freedom of the City of London; he’s still an active performer.
