Sir Ian McKellen reached A-list Hollywood status all at once after being cast as Magneto in the early Fox/Marvel X-men movies and Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. But apart from these blockbusters, he also had other projects that earned him accolades like a Golden Globe and a Tony.
The Guardian reported in March 2021 that the English star is returning to portray Hamlet five decades after first taking on the role on the theater stage. The 85-year-old McKellen will also be part of a new movie titled Infinitum: Subject Unknown, solely filmed through an iPhone.
